If you’re on the hunt for authentic mutton dishes in Lahore, look no further than Haji Chargha House. Nestled in Mughalpura, this eatery specializes in mutton steam roast, earning rave reviews from customers. Muhammad Ali describes his visit as “mind-blowing,” highlighting the epic flavor and reasonable portion sizes of the mutton. The atmosphere may be cozy, but the service is top-notch, ensuring a satisfying dining experience.
Another fan, Wasif Hassan, praises the tender, non-spicy mutton joints, while also giving a nod to their delicious chicken and outstanding Roghani Naan. Asim Butt calls it a solid value for money, noting their extensive cuts of mutton, including chops and porterhouse. Farman Ali echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the crispy mutton and the quality of the naan at prices that won’t break the bank.
However, not all dishes shine equally; some reviewers like Abdullah Javed suggest that the chicken doesn’t measure up, likening it to basic fried pieces lacking tenderness. Nonetheless, for mutton aficionados, Haji Chargha House is a must-try destination, offering great flavors and value that will tempt you to return again and again.

Based on 1,020 reviewsHaji Chargha House is widely recognized for its authentic and flavorful mutton dishes, particularly the steam roast and various cuts like joints and ribs. Customers often highlight the tender, well-seasoned mutton that offers excellent value for money. The quality of their Roghani Naan also receives positive mentions, complementing the main dishes. While the mutton is praised for its taste and affordability, feedback on the chicken offerings is more mixed, with some noting less tenderness compared to other brands. Service is generally regarded as attentive, though seating space is somewhat limited. Overall, Haji Chargha House is recommended especially for mutton lovers seeking traditional flavors at reasonable prices.
I went at this place a week ago . After a lot of research on most authentic and tasty mutton steam option in Lahore ,I went to Haji chargha. It was a mind blowing experience . I only tried Mutton steam roast and it was epic level tasty and authentic. The size of the mutton piece was reasonable and the price was also OK. Sitting area was bit lesser but the service was awesome. Overall it was a very satisfying experience. Highly recommended for Mutton steam ; didn't try chicken steam .
At Haji Chargha house, you can get a very soft and non spicy, super delicious Mutton Joints. They also have very tasty chicken pieces. Their Roghani Naan are also very very good. Its a must try place
Good value of money … one of better mutton roast options in Lahore … with all available cuts of mutton leg , joints , chops , ribs and porterhouse
Superb and extraordinary crispy/tasty mutton pieces with soft quality of 'Naan'. One time taste will surely attract you to visit again. They serve great taste with good service. Surprisingly price is very standard for such a great taste. You will definitely not find such a quality taste at this low cost... Highly recommended.....
I will recommend it for mutton only. Not suitable for chicken. Chicken is just like fried piece with no tenderness. I would prefer to go for Griffin but in this price range this is not a bad option.
A treat for carnivores ! Super soft, mildly spiced steamed mutton joints and other mutton pieces. They also have excellent chicken steam roast and kalonji naan! This is decades old shop serving mutton joints roast since ages! Truly preserved their taste and improved the ambiance!
Excellent choice for a quick meal. Probably the best steamed mutton joints and chicken in Lahore. Their naans and raita are a plus and adds a lot to the experience. Quick service and decent sitting. Night time is rushy and you'll struggle to get parking.
